The installation APPARENZE DOMESTICHE (Domestic Appearances) belongs to the wider project DOUBT ↔ MUTATION.
Apparenze Domestiche is composed by two wide print pictures and one video. In the pictures a person - a man? a woman?- is portrayed in two domestic spaces, elegantly dressed with a tie. Is it a suicide, a homicide, a sort of come or simply apathetic to which life sometimes brings to? What can a desire, unsatisfied because constraint between walls, involve?
It’ s possible to die in the monotony of one’s own home.
This opens up scenaries in which the attention is drawn directly on the individual and the environments in which he lives, on the apparent calm that surrounds him, on questioning: does one’s home, one’s residence, always represents such a safe and pacific place? "I wanted to create a clear contrast between the tidiness, the order of the spaces and the surrendered body".
The video, in an abstract way, discusses and relates to these two images, though disconnecting itself from a familiar place like a domestic one, in order to investigate a more intimate and imaginary dimension of the individual itself.
